Cary has been a practicing physical therapist for more than 28 years. In 1998, he received his physical therapy degree from the University of South Alabama. He began his career at the level-1 trauma hospital, USA Medical Center. Cary worked primarily in the burn unit, but also served trauma, cardiac, surgical and oncological patients. Cary’s desire to continuously grow his skills and experience as a therapist next led him to work in the outpatient sector where he focused on orthopedic and post-surgical care. He primarily helped post surgical spine, shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee, foot and ankle patients. In 2014, Cary obtained a DPT (Doctoral of Physical Therapy) and most recently, Cary has completed his Diploma in Osteopractic, making him a specialist in advanced manual therapies and differential diagnosis for neuromusculoskeletal conditions. Cary has multiple specialty certifications including Spinal Manipulative Therapy (Cert.SMT), Vestibular Concussion Specialist (Cert.VCS), Dry Needling (Cert. DN & UDN-C), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (certified SFMA).
In 2018 , driven by his desire to provide a better quality of physical therapy care, Cary, together with his partner Tara Bearden, opened their own practice, Renew PT & Wellness where he and his colleagues provide a unique concierge level plan of care that is evidence based.
Cary is also a proud veteran of the United States Navy who served in the Gulf War. He is a husband and proud father of two daughters and a son.
